"Perspex", "Acrylic" or "Plastic"

Comes in clear, black, white, colour, opal and tint. Clear acrylic has great clarity, excellent weather ability and is highly impact resistant, is often used within the aircraft industry, because it is extremely formable, weather resistant, and has a greater impact resistance than glass.

Acrylic applications:

  • Brochure Display Holders and Racks
  • Easy fabrication, machining and gluing
  • Boat and caravan windscreen
  • Menu Holders
  • Business Card
  • Bins and boxes

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is available in clear, opal and tint, is UV protected and can be thermoformed and/or cold formed. Polycarbonate is extremely impact resistant and therefore is ideal for the security, building and transport industry as well as safety guards, or screens and windscreens for marine purposes.

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

HDPE plastic is a ridged high tensile strength product. This material is extremely sturdy, has great impact resistance, is stabilised against uv light, and can handle cold and hot extremes. HDPE is very versatile, and commonly used in the mining, agriculture, marine industries as well as chemical storage and food industries. HDPE can easily be manufactured.

Polypropylene

Polypropylene is even harder than HDPE thus can handle severe conditions and is resistant against high temperature or chemical products. It is commonly used in the mining industry, for galvanising, in educational applications, and the automotive and laboratory environment. Polypropylene is UV protected and available in clear, opal and tint.

PVC

PVC is UV stabilised, 100% water resistant, non-corrosive and resistant against most chemical products, has excellent insulating properties. Therefore PVC is commonly used for electrical switchboard covers, fume ducting, plumbing fittings and much more.

PVC Celuka Foam Board

Celuka board has a 0.3mm external skin over a solid foam core, is water resistant, has low thermal conductivity, and is exceptionally light weight. It is an ideal material to replace timber.

Celuka is often used for caravan fit outs, in the marine industry, for partitioning and bulletin boards, in advertising/display signage and cool rooms, and the graphics and building industry. Celuka is available in black /white but can be painted into any colour, is easy to bend, cut and mould.

PVC Foamex/Forex or Foam PVC

Foam PVC is available in white/black and in many bright colours. FPVC is ideal to silk screen, good for vinyl graphics and easy to hand paint. Is rigid compressed foam PVC that is limited to internal applications, fire retardant, lightweight, water resistant and suitable for display boards, signage, and merchandising or portable display stands.

Polystyrene

High-impact polystyrene or HIPS, commonly called "high-impact plastic" is used in toys and product casings.

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene or ABS is very similar to HIPS, comes in a leather grain or haircell finish and is extremely versatile for use in fabrication, thermo forming and moulding.

ABS has excellent impact resistance coupled with superior toughness and rigidity, ABS is suitable for a range of internal applications such as automotive trim panels to industrial casings, guards etc.

Nylon

Nylon offers an optimal combination of mechanical strength, stiffness, toughness, mechanical damping properties, together with a favorable electrical insulating ability, and a good chemical resistance make this nylon a “general purpose” grade for mechanical construction and maintenance.

Nylon Applications:

  • Heavy load machine slides
  • Conveyor components subject to high wear and requiring low friction
  • Parts subject to high impact stresses
  • Excellent bearing properties
  • High wear resistance
  • High impact strength and toughness
  • Good electrical insulator
  • Very high sliding properties
  • Working temperature range of -40 to 140° C.

PETG

CLEAR PETG is manufactured by the extrusion process. The material exhibits excellent clarity, high impact resistance, good transparency and excellent thermoform ability.

Typical sheet applications include Screen printing, Signage, POS Displays & Industrial guards.

Typical Properties:

  • Light transmission of 87% - 91%
  • Excellent inherent impact strength and toughness
  • Outstanding printability
  • Maintenance of high rigidity at elevated temperatures
  • No pre-drying for processing
  • Excellent dimensional stability
  • Low water absorption
